No Contract Cell Phones On The Rise

Cell phones have become a booming industry for tech gadgets around the world. Most requiring a contract in order to own one. Professionals to elementary school age kids posess a phone, it has become a phenom of sorts. No contract cell Phones seems to be on the rise today given the state of the economy and overall market place. What would you prefer a no contract cell phone or a cell phone with a two (2) to four (4) years contract?
I tend to disagree with a cell phone on a contractual basis. There are so many more advantages in owning a "No Contract Cell phone".

Benefits of a no Contract Phone Option
There are a number of benefits to owning and using a no contract cell phone. Of course there are disadvantages, too, but that's true with any option. Let’s just list some of the benefits of owning and using the pay-as-you-go phone. First, there is no age restriction because there is no contract to sign. Persons under the age of 18 are not able to sign and be bound by a contract and prepaid options are fantastic for circumventing that issue. If a prepaid phone is lost then there is no fear of identity theft or overuse and the fees that it can incur. Not to mention the fact that there is no hefty fees incurred for phone replacement. If you use all of the prepaid time on your phone. It simply stops working rather than racking up charges and fees for overuse of minutes and the like.

For parents it may be important to note that you are able to register the cell phones without contracts with your name and address information in order to take advantage of any emergency services that the provider may furnish. It is also important to note that many of the pay-as-you-go type phones may not offer a 911 emergency calling service. One would need to research that thoroughly if it is something that you feel the need to have. There are some that do offer this service, so do not get discouraged and keep looking for the phone and features that are right for your specific needs.
